Exchange 2007 sp1 Search indicies Performance monitor not "installed"
Hi!I have a problem with search in OWA and have narrowed it down to being a problem with the performance counters for Exchange. The setup is: Windows 2008 Server x64 (fully updated), Microsoft Exchange 2007 Standard SP1 (Fully updated)The server is working great except the search problem. If I run Get-MailboxDatabase |ft Name,IndexEnabled. I get true.If I restart the MSExhangeSearchIndexer Service I get a few errors in the Event Application Log. These are written twice:Event: 1021, Source: Perflib:Windows cannot open the 32-bit extensible counter DLL ASP.NET in a 64-bit environment. Contact the file vendor to obtain a 64-bit version. Alternatively, you can open the 32-bit extensible counter DLL by using the 32-bit version of Performance Monitor. To use this tool, open the Windows folder, open the Syswow64 folder, and then start Perfmon.exe.Event: 1018, Source: Perflib:Disabled performance counter data collection for this session from the "ASP.NET" service because the performance counter library for that service has generated one or more errors. The errors that forced this action have been written to the application event log.Event: 1008, Source: Perflib:The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\system32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Can you please make sure you have the correct version of .Net framework installed? I suspect it being 32 bit instead of 64 bit.Milind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Hi, I understand that a problem with search in OWA is encountered. In addition, you notice several events when restarting the Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer service. At this time, please let me know whether the Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer and Microsoft Search (Exchange) services on the mailbox server have been started. In addition, I suggest you refer to following articles to troubleshoot the issue: How to Diagnose Exchange Search Issues http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123701.aspx The Outlook Web Access search function does not work for some users in Exchange 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945077 Mike

Yes, the Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer and Microsoft Search (Exchange) services has been started.I have tried both suggested articles but they have no impact on the errors.I think I am missing some catalog files that used to be in the Mailbox Store folder when I look in the Windows Explorer./Joakim

I'm not having any issues with search, but I am getting the Event ID 803, Source: EXODBPC log entry. This is rather concerning that there is no description for this issue. Has there been any forward motion on determining the cause of this error?
